    About the program

    Work in local kindergartens in Bali's northern beaches and teach the children basic English words and phrases in an informal and fun way, such as songs & dancing.

    About the program

    Teach excitable children aged 4 to 5 years old in local kindergartens needing general assistance and basic English teaching. The children may not be used to too many foreigners and are always excited and welcoming of new volunteers, and love learning about where you are from!
    Assist the local teacher and lead some classes on your own, teaching the children basic words and phrases in English. 

    Knowing the English language can greatly benefit them in the future so getting them inspired to learn the language and education in general is the aim. 

    Teaching styles are informal and as the children are so young, a lot of teaching will be done through play activities and fun games, songs and dances. The goal is to increase their awareness of the language, so they can go on to further education and have more opportunities in future endeavours. 

    PLEASE NOTE: the Kindergarten Project will be closed during school break (June, July, August and December). Please ask us about the holiday schedule before booking.


    *PLEASE NOTE: All participants for the Education, Teaching, Construction, and Turtle Conservation projects, are required to apply for a C6 Social Cultural visa prior to arrival. Participants who have a Visa On Arrival or an E-Visa on Arrival will not be able to participate in these projects. Participants who only attend the culture, adventure, and yoga weeks will be accepted to join the programs with a Visa on Arrival. Going through an online agency or via our local team is the easiest way to obtain the visa. 

      **Exceptions to the C6 visa

    Participants can join any program with a Visa on Arrival (VOA) for the following program types:

    • 1-week culture week, plus 1 to 3 week volunteer program
    • 1-week volunteer program

    However, it is important to highlight that participants using a VOA must put 'tourism' for reason of visit.

    We still encourage volunteers to arrive with a C6 visa for all programs. Please note that obtaining and using a VOA is entirely the participant's responsibility. We cannot be held accountable for any issues or concerns arising from this, as we are obligated to recommend the appropriate visa type for participants joining volunteering projects.

    In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

    Airport Pickup at Ngurah Rai International Airport

    Programs begin every Monday, and volunteers are required to arrive the day prior, for orientation before the project. Your accommodation on the Sunday is included in the program fees.

    A free airport pickup is included when arriving to Denpasar International Airport (DPS). You must arrive between 06:00 to 18:00 on Sunday.

    If arriving outside the pickup times you can book a private transfer and any extra night’s accommodation for an additional fee.

    Alternatively, if arriving early you could wait at the arrival’s terminal for the pickup time, book accommodation at the airport and meet us during the pickup times or make your own way to the project (we will advise on how to do this).

    From the international airport to the Lovina accommodation it takes around 3 hours drive. 

    Accommodation

    You will be accommodated in one of our centres in the village of Tukad Mungga. Located on the street leading to the beach, which is a 5 min walk away. Village life is quintessentially local and you will get a good chance to experience the typical Balinese life – roosters crowing and all!

    Rooms are 4-6 people, single gender shared rooms, with a lockable safety box, wifi, air-conditioning, hot showers, and laundry facilities in the nearby area at an extra cost. There are many ATMs in Lovina centre which is about a 10 to 20-minute walk from the accommodation.

    Food & Beverages

    As a volunteer in bali, you’ll receive 3 traditional meals each day on weekdays and 2 meals on weekends (breakfast and dinner). Indonesian food is tasty and diverse and you can expect to experience a myriad of flavours and meals during your stay. Typical dishes included Mie Goreng (fried noodles and vegetables), Nasi Goreng (fried rice and vegetables) or Gado Gado (mixed vegetables with a satay sauce). For those who do not eat meat, Indonesian cooking uses a lot of tofu and tempeh (soybeans), some western dishes would also be available. Breakfasts are varied and include pancakes, fresh fruit, toast etc. No alcohol is permitted in any of our accommodations.

    Minors traveling to Indonesia

    Unaccompanied minors traveling to Indonesia are required to have a consent form from their parents/legal guardian in hand. The required documents may include a Consent form for minors and the birth certificate. Please check with the Airline before boarding the flight.
