    This isn't just a summer trip - it's a carefully crafted opportunity to:

    Students on this internship are expected to be curious and eager to learn. To ask questions during physician shadowing sessions and partake in discussions. There is no need to bring any special materials or equipment with you, everything will be provided on the program.

    This programme provides a mix of activities day to day, including opportunities to shadow medical professionals, attend workshops, participate in community engagement and take part in cultural immersion activities. 

    Here are some of the things you'll get up to: 

    Medical Exploration

    • Shadow healthcare professionals in modern medical facilities in Valencia
    • Observe different medical roles and specialties
    • Attend specially designed medical workshops for high school students
    • Learn about the Spanish healthcare system

    Community Engagement

    • Participate in community service projects with local non-government organisations (NGOs)
    • Contribute to public health awareness initiatives
    • Develop empathy and understanding of community health needs

    Cultural Immersion

    Minimum Age: 15 years

    In order to join the program you need to be at least 15 years old on the program start date.

    You need to speak English (basic level)

    No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome.

    Time Commitment

    Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

    Airport Pickup at Valencia Airport

    A member of our staff will be waiting for you at Valencia Airport when you arrive. You'll be transferred directly to your accommodation in the city. This journey will give you your first glimpse of the Mediterranean coastline and Valencia's unique blend of historic and modern architecture. 

    Accommodation

    You'll stay with carefully selected host families in Valencia. This arrangement provides an authentic Spanish experience and helps develop your cultural competency - a valuable skill for future medical professionals.

    Your accommodation will be comfortable and welcoming, with all necessary amenities including Wi-Fi and access to laundry facilities. All homes are carefully vetted and located in safe neighbourhoods with easy access to your clinical placements.

    Living with a host family offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Spanish culture and pick up the basics of Spanish or improve on what you know by talking to a native speaker.
