By joining this project, you’ll have the chance to make a real impact in the local community—supporting families and children while helping to create safer, more comfortable living conditions. You’ll work closely with a local coordinator, who will guide you through the process, alongside fellow participants and community members.
The project itself is hands-on and active. You’ll roll up your sleeves for tasks like bricklaying, carpentry, painting, tiling, and gardening. At the same time, there’s also a more creative side to the work—renovating and brightening up kindergartens and primary schools in Lovina with artwork, murals, and colourful touches.
Your contribution may include painting school buildings, crafting tables and chairs, repairing playgrounds, laying pathways, constructing toilets, restoring walls, and even building new classrooms. Depending on the community’s needs, you might also help renovate local community centres or family homes.
While the work is practical, it’s also fun and rewarding. We encourage you to bring your own creativity and ideas to the projects, making the experience both meaningful and enjoyable. You’ll share this journey with other participants, working together to create safe and welcoming spaces for children and families.
Outside of your project hours, you’ll have plenty of time to relax and enjoy Bali. Evening and recreational activities with fellow volunteers will help you unwind after a productive day. On weekends, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to explore—whether it’s discovering Bali’s lush landscapes, historic sites, or simply soaking up the sun on its pristine beaches with turquoise waters. We’ll be here to help you plan your weekend adventures so you can make the most of your stay.
Location
Lovina is situated right at the North end of Bali and is much less touristy than areas down South – which is the beauty of it! Life is relaxed here with less traffic, tourist, and uncrowded beaches. It is also close to other beauty spots, such as stunning natural waterfalls, hot springs, diving and dolphin tours. Lovina gives you a teste for wat ‘old Bali’ was like before tourism arrived and is great for those wanting a more authentic location to stay.
