    Volunteers will work with local community to extend solar powered piped water system to Mmanze Secondary School, Mmanze Primary School and BusaawaMmanze health Centre III

    About the program

    The program is about getting potential volunteers that maybe willing to work with us to extend solar powered piped water system to our secondary school,primary school,health unit and the entire community.The system currently stops at a distance of one kilometer from where it is is needed.The volunteers will pay a program fees of 1200$ for one month.50% of the fees will be used for airport pickup and drop back,feeding and accommodation.50% will be used to buy the materials that will be used to e tend the water system in a distance of one kilometer.The system needs about 10,000$ to complete it.The main activities to be done include the following 

    1-Digging the transmission line a distance of one kilometer 
    2-Buying and installation of the transmission pipes a distance of one kilometer 
    3-Buying and installation of distribution pipes a distance of one kilometer 
    4-Buying and installation of a fifty thousand water storage tank
    5-Construction of the water tank pillars.
    6-Construction of a perimeter fence at the water tank storage plant.
    7-Installation of water taps.

    Requirements

    Minimum Age: 18 years

    In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

    50% of the program fees is used for airport pickup and drop back,feeding and accommodation.50% of the fees goes towards the buying of the building materials for the construction and extension of water system to where it is needed a distance of one kilometer from where the system is currently located 

    Airport Pickup at Entebbe International Airport

    Airport pick up is made by one of our members.However,volunteers should inform us before coming the time and date of arrival.Late night arrival will need volunteers to stay in a hotel or guest House at their expense.

    Accommodation

    Volunteers are accommodated with a host family to enable them learn our social cultural beliefs and practices.

    Food & Beverages

    We serve our local food with local sauce.we also serve fruits and drinking water.Vegetarians are considered for their meals.

    Flight Tickets
