OverviewOur program aims to support women who lack basic education and struggle to thrive in today’s age where education and technology are essential for survival. We help these women develop skills in personal growth, environmental awareness, budgeting, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy, which foster sustainable development and resilience.
We facilitate international participants’ engagement with local women who may have limited exposure to outsiders, creating mutually beneficial relationships. This exchange expands personal perspectives and encourages the discovery of hidden talents, leading to increased participation in developmental activities.
To overcome existing barriers, we employ creative teaching methods and a positive outlook, encouraging participants to teach topics they are passionate about using relevant resources. As English is widely spoken, participants can easily convey their knowledge and utilize reference materials.
Participants are encouraged to use different techniques to teach topics that they are passionate about, and/or have first-hand knowledge, as long as they are relevant and assist with the goals outlined by the women being served through the program.
Location
Nakuru is a city in Kenya that is located in the Great Rift Valley region. It is the fourth-largest urban area in Kenya, with a population of over 500,000 people. The city is known for its beautiful natural scenery, including Lake Nakuru National Park, which is home to a wide variety of wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, and rhinos. Nakuru is also a hub for agriculture and is one of the largest producers of pyrethrum, a natural insecticide, in the world. Additionally, the city has a vibrant cultural scene, with numerous festivals and events throughout the year, including the Nakuru Agricultural Show and the Lake Turkana Cultural Festival.
