    Digital Marketing & Media Intern — NGO | Tanzania (On-site, Erasmus+)

    About the role

    Join an award-winning program and run live channels reaching 50,000+ followers. This is real digital marketing and media work across social, web, film, journalism, advocacy and training — with daily supervisor support.

    What you'll do

    • Manage social media: create, schedule, analyze and strategize
    • Produce SEO-aware web and blog content
    • Create film, arts and creative media
    • Practice journalism and creative storytelling
    • Run advocacy and visibility campaigns; support orientation and tutoring

    Media volunteers start their tasks at 9 AM and work until 16.30 PM. You will have a weekly plan for various functions, which will be reported at the end of the week to ensure we meet our tasks.

    Standard Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Pinterest are standard media tools. We produce content across all these media and expand our networks with target groups such as universities and other NGOs.

    Content production also includes Film. Our film team is a highly professional Tanzanian team that produces music videos, short documentaries, and film clips for social media. If you are not familiar with using Film in media content, you can collaborate with film sector volunteers who can assist with your tasks—the same goes for photography and photo editing.

    We are developing the "Youth Reporters" program for the Children's Agenda initiative. In the Youth Reporters program, volunteers assist young people in creating social media content to discuss their positives and negatives. It is to learn what the young people think of themselves, not only to listen to what NGOs and other entities representing their hopes feel about their needs.

    Social media has become increasingly popular in Tanzania; today, even in rural villages, people have access to it. Art in Tanzania's Facebook page has 19k likes. We are a highly connected society, and we consider social media the primary tool to reach people in common.

You will enjoy your stay in Tanzania.

    The fee includes accommodation, breakfast, dinner, program guidance with orientation, 24-hour staff presence, and academic graduate team leaders for all programs.

    The actual program is free of charge. You may have small local transfer costs.

    The cost does not include international flights, local transfers, charity volunteer visas, or personal purchases.

    Accomodatie

    Our eco-compound in Madale Village in the Dar es Salaam area has dorms, single, double, and family rooms. As an eco-compound, we use flush toilets with bio-grade septic tanks; we collect shower water and use it as "grey water" for our tropical garden irrigation. This compound is in Madale village, so it is in the countryside but a short distance from the city.

    We charge for accommodation with breakfast and dinner only. 

    Eten & Drank

    We include breakfast and dinner in the lodging cost at our compound. Lunches are not included because most participants are out of the compound during the day. Local places to eat around your placement are low-cost.

    All drinks are at your own cost. Drinking water is available everywhere at a low price. We also run a compound bar, so you can easily access drinks and snacks.

    Gegevens over jouw aankomst

    After we have booked you, we will send you a charity invitation letter for the online charity work visa application. The cost of the Charity volunteer or student visa is USD 50 for up to 3 months. If you stay longer, we will assist with the new permit process.

    Our driver will be waiting for you at the airport, and you will receive program orientation on the first day after your arrival.
