    About the program

The project helps victims of abuse in their recovery and has its headquarters in the city center. Here they work on different issues with
children and adolescents up to 18 years old. On the one hand, they offer free legal support in the process to get perpetrators
sentenced and imprisoned. On the other hand, they focus on the victims in need of support both during and after the trial. This support
is given in the form of creative dance therapy, drawing workshops, information processing and psychological support. They
also organize campaigns and political events to give a voice to those unheard.
This great project can use your help with therapy (take into account that Spanish can be a bit of an obstacle if you want to transfer
your knowledge and experience) and with activity guidance and English lessons. There is a lot going on in this vital organization,
with many possibilities to help. If you have a professional background in creative therapy or counseling consider a minimum stay of
three months. If you want to help out with daily activities for the kids in and around the center, then a minimum stay of two months is

    also possible.

    Possible tasks:
    • recreational activities with the kids such as sports, arts and teaching English
    •  support the local staff in counseling and with therapeutic topics
    •  creative therapy, helping out with campaigns
    •  short term projects like dance-workshops, theater or music-classes

In the morning, after you had breakfast with your host family, you get in the trufi (the common public transport) to your project. As always, there is rush hour and traffic but you get to chitchat with the locals.

First task of the week is to write a protocol of the weekly team meeting where the team plans the coming week. Someone has to edit and upload photos for the Facebook page and you are assigned to do it. Later you write invitations for a public event the project is planing a month from now.

In the afternoon you accompany your boss to a town hall meeting about getting permission and support for the mayor for a demonstration you are planing on the cities' birthday. After that you meet up with a teacher and join her giving a workshop in a school the project is cooperating with.

You have dinner with her and discuss her methods of teaching but the report you have to write about your observations has to wait, because a volunteer of the house you are living in, has a Whine and Cheese Party, and you don't want to miss out on that.
