    About the program

Discover Colombia beyond the typical tourist route while making a meaningful contribution to local communities. This unique volunteer experience combines the Caribbean charm of Cartagena's island communities with the authentic cultural immersion of Bucaramanga, creating an unforgettable journey through two completely different regions of Colombia.

Your adventure begins on a small Caribbean island near Cartagena, where you will work alongside local children and community members in a relaxed coastal environment. Volunteers support a variety of activities that may include educational workshops, arts and crafts, sports, environmental initiatives, and community projects. The focus is not on specialized skills but on creating positive experiences, encouraging learning, and building connections with local residents. Outside of volunteering, you can enjoy the island's beautiful beaches, Caribbean sunsets, and optional surfing activities.

After your time on the coast, you will travel to Bucaramanga, often called one of Colombia's most authentic and welcoming cities. Here, volunteers become involved in community-based projects that support children and young people from local neighborhoods. Activities may include assisting with English lessons, organizing games and sports sessions, supporting educational activities, and participating in community events.

What makes this program special is the opportunity to experience Colombia from the inside. You won't simply visit the country—you will become part of local communities, share meals with Colombians, practice Spanish in real-life situations, and gain a deeper understanding of Colombian culture, traditions, and daily life.

No previous volunteering experience or Spanish knowledge is required. Enthusiasm, flexibility, and an open mind are the most important qualities. Our local team will provide guidance and support throughout your stay and help you make the most of your time in both destinations.

By combining community work, cultural exchange, island life, and authentic Colombian experiences, this program offers a journey that many volunteers describe as one of the most rewarding experiences of their lives.
