    About the program

This project is a unique opportunity to contribute to the conservation of wildlife in one of Mexico's most beautiful and ecologically rich areas: La Ventanilla. Located on the Pacific coast in Oaxaca, La Ventanilla is home to a diverse wildlife, including rescued deer that have been saved by the environmental police. The project focuses on the rehabilitation and care of these deer, ensuring they thrive in their natural habitat within the Environmental Management Unit (UMA).

By volunteering here, you play a key role in the preservation of local wildlife. Your tasks—feeding the deer, monitoring their health, and maintaining their habitat—directly impact the well-being of the animals and contribute to the broader conservation efforts in the area. This work is crucial in maintaining the ecological balance of the region and ensuring the long-term survival of these species.

Living in La Ventanilla offers a truly immersive experience in a small, tropical coastal community. The pace of life is slow and connected to nature, providing a peaceful environment that fosters a deep connection with the local culture. You'll have the chance to engage with the community, learn about their traditions, and experience rural Mexican life firsthand. It’s a place where you can truly unplug, step back from the hustle of city life, and contribute to something meaningful while living in harmony with nature.

The combination of meaningful work, a supportive community, and the beauty of the coastal environment makes this volunteer experience not only impactful but also transformative. It’s an opportunity to make a real difference while enjoying the simple, enriching life of La Ventanilla.
