Step into the heart of Ghana and help bridge the digital divide! As a Digital Skills Volunteer with TANF Ghana, you will teach essential computer skills to students, teachers, and community members in underserved rural areas. Your role includes conducting basic IT classes, supporting the digitisation of school and NGO records, and training youth to use digital tools for entrepreneurship, education, and employment.Location & Surroundings
This program takes place in Aburi–Oboadaka in the Eastern Region of Ghana, a peaceful hillside community near the beautiful Oboadaka Waterfalls. The area is surrounded by green landscapes, fresh mountain air, and welcoming local families. Volunteers work in local schools and community centres equipped with basic computer facilities.
Accommodation is safe and modest, located within or near the community, offering an authentic cultural experience and close interaction with local residents.
Who You Will Work WithVolunteers collaborate closely with TANF Ghana staff, local teachers, school administrators, and youth groups. You will work as part of a supportive team and assist ongoing programs rather than working independently.
Expectations & SupportWe expect volunteers to be patient, adaptable, culturally respectful, and willing to share knowledge in a practical and simple way. Basic computer knowledge is sufficient—you do not need to be a technology expert.
TANF Ghana provides orientation upon arrival, local supervision, and continuous support throughout your stay. Volunteers do not need to bring special equipment; however, bringing a personal laptop (if available), a notebook, and comfortable clothing suitable for warm weather is recommended and just so you know this program is available throughout the year.
