     Addressing Nepal's Growing Emergency Crisis

Nepal faces a severe and escalating burden from injuries. Currently, Nepal loses an alarming 530,000 Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) annually due to injury.

    • Projected Crisis: By current trends, injuries are estimated to become the 3rd most common cause of DALY loss in Nepal by 2020, an increase from the 9th most common cause currently.

    • The Solution: A functioning, professional ambulance system is critical to reducing these tragic losses and bolstering economic productivity.

Creating a Professional, Life-Saving EMS System

Our Foundation is dedicated to working with an independent non-profit organization focused on establishing a gold-standard, professional ambulance service that directly benefits the Kathmandu Valley.

    How it Works:

    • Fully Equipped: You will work with fully equipped and professionally staffed ambulances.

    • Centralized Dispatch: Operations are managed via a central dispatch facility with radio communication, ensuring rapid coordination between areas and ambulances.

    • Rapid Response: This system guarantees rapid transport and immediate, life-saving treatment for individual patients.

Pre-Hospital Care: Making a Difference in the Field

As a volunteer, you will be deeply involved in a professional Emergency Medical Service (EMS) in Nepal. You will perform crucial Pre-Hospital Emergency Care directly in the field.

    Your Responsibilities May Include:

    • Splinting fractures and stabilizing injuries.

    • Bracing neck and spinal cord injuries using specialized equipment.

    • Controlling bleeding.

    • Clearing air passageways to ensure patient breathing.

    • Starting IV fluids for patients presenting with shock.

Working with the Best: Our Ambulances & Technology

Our ambulances are furnished with specialized, life-saving equipment and are staffed by a highly trained Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

The fleet comprises both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) state-of-the-art vehicles.

    Key Equipment Includes:

    • IV fluids, Oxygen, and Suction Pump

    • Bandages and dressings

    • Collapsible wheeled stretcher-trolley

    • Spine board with head immobilizer

    • Scoop stretcher and vacuum splints
