As a volunteer football coach in Tanzania, you’ll run drills, plan tactics, and mentor boys and girls who live for the beautiful game.     Volunteer work hours at Jithubutu vary depending on the chosen activity and duration of commitment. The center operates Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm and Saturday from 11:00 am to 6:30 pm, with peak hours typically after 1:00 pm.
    Volunteers can choose to participate in a variety of activities, including teaching language classes, leading workshops on entrepreneurship, organizing dance sessions, and managing the library. Each of these activities may require different levels of time commitment, ranging from a few hours per week to several hours per day. Specific working hours will be agreed upon based on the volunteer’s activities and the center’s needs.
    For instance, those involved in teaching language classes might be needed for morning sessions, while dance and creative workshops might be more popular in the afternoons and evenings. Additionally, volunteers who manage the library or organize board games might have more flexible schedules, as these activities can be spread throughout the day.

Twice a week, you will lead workshops on menstrual health, distribute reusable sanitary pads, and facilitate open discussions with participants. Depending on your skills, you can also help produce sanitary pads or develop educational course content. Outside the workshops, you may support logistics, distribution, or other community activities.     Our villa is the ideal home-away-from-home for volunteers, interns, and travelers seeking a vibrant, welcoming community right in the heart of Arusha. Located just a 25-minute walk from the city center, easy transport options like motorcycles, taxis, and dala dalas (local minibuses) are nearby for quick trips around town. After a rewarding day of volunteering, unwind by the sparkling pool, enjoy a refreshing drink at the rooftop bar, or chill out on the breezy rooftop terrace. You’ll also find a shop selling unique handmade items created by our projects and a cozy spa for some well-deserved relaxation. Your safety is our priority — the villa is securely enclosed by sturdy walls and protected by dedicated night watchmen, so you can rest peacefully.

    Rooms

    Choose the accommodation that suits you best: cozy shared dorms with 4 or 6 beds, or for more privacy, comfortable single or double rooms. Every room includes a private bathroom with hot water, spacious closets, and a personal safe to keep your valuables secure. For added comfort, we offer gender-segregated dorms. If you prefer your own space, single and double rooms are available for just €100 extra per person, per week.

    On your first day, we’ll take you on an orientation tour of Arusha showing you how to get around, use local transport, find ATMs, exchange money, and discover the city’s highlights.
    The following day, one of our volunteer coordinators will accompany you to your project site, guide you through your first steps, and ensure you feel comfortable and safe at all times.
