    Nepal’s diverse medical landscape offers exposure to both modern healthcare facilities and traditional medicine, providing a well-rounded experience. Volunteers will have the chance to assist in patient care, observe medical procedures, participate in health awareness programs, and contribute to improving healthcare accessibility in underserved areas.

    Beyond the medical experience, this program offers a deep cultural exchange, allowing participants to explore Nepal’s rich heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality.

    Your Roles & Responsibilities1. Clinical Exposure & Assistance

    🔹 Shadow and assist doctors, nurses, and medical staff in hospitals and clinics.
    🔹 Observe and assist in patient consultations, diagnostics, and treatment procedures.
    🔹 Support emergency care and participate in outpatient and inpatient services.

    🔹 Learn about and engage in traditional medicine practices alongside modern healthcare.

    2. Community Health & Outreach

    🔹 Conduct health awareness campaigns on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
    🔹 Assist in maternal and child healthcare programs in rural communities.
    🔹 Participate in vaccination programs and mobile health camps.
    🔹 Engage in health education initiatives in schools and community centers.

    3. Rural & Underserved Healthcare Support

    🔹 Work in remote health posts where medical resources are limited.
    🔹 Assist local healthcare workers in delivering primary care to underserved populations.
    🔹 Support rehabilitation and physiotherapy sessions for patients in need


    Eligibility Requirements

    ✔ Medical students, pre-med students, nursing students, and healthcare professionals.
    ✔ Enthusiasm for hands-on learning and cross-cultural medical experience.
    ✔ Basic knowledge of medical terminology and a willingness to assist in clinical work.
    ✔ Strong adaptability to different healthcare environments and cultures.
    ✔ Minimum commitment of 2 weeks (longer stays preferred for in-depth experience).

Mornings start with patient rounds, assisting doctors in consultations, minor procedures, and emergency care. A mid-morning tea break allows volunteers to discuss cases with medical staff before resuming hands-on learning in general medicine, maternal health, or surgery. After a traditional Nepali lunch, afternoons may involve community health outreach, vaccinations, or rural medical camps. The workday ends by late afternoon, leaving time to explore Nepal’s vibrant culture, join language lessons, or relax with fellow volunteers before enjoying a home-cooked dinner and preparing for another impactful day ahead.

    In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

    Accommodation

    It will be an accommodation in a Nepalese home stay. When there are more volunteers you are asked to share the room.

    The accomodation is in central Kathmandu near to major sites and land marks. Peaceful and greener location in the central Kathmandu.

    All foods are warm freshly cooked local styled home meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner. The most common and popular food are rice, lentils, curry, mo mo, pasta etc
