This programme is designed for pre-organised groups of eight or more who want to experience the "real Spain" while lending a hand where it’s needed most. We are a small association aiming for self-sufficiency, working in harmony with our herd of horses, dogs, cats, and small animals.

A Cultural & Language Exchange 

You will be living in a friendly, traditional mountain village of just 150 people. Even if you don’t speak any Spanish, you will be welcomed with open arms. We are an English-Spanish family, and you are invited to join us and experience a fusion of cultures and languages. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to practice Spanish with the locals at the village bar, while our day-to-day operations at the sanctuary are conducted in English.

Teamwork, Learning, and Collective Impact 

As a group, you have the power to complete large-scale tasks that make a lasting, tangible difference. Your itinerary will be tailored to your group's skills, balancing physical projects with guided sessions on sanctuary ethics. Unlike our individual programmes, the Group Experience focuses on collaborative projects:

• Infrastructure: Building or repairing shelters, major fencing projects, and maintaining feeding mangers.

• Land Restoration: Planting and clearing to prevent erosion, managing firebreaks, and encouraging local wildlife.

• Educational Workshops: Members of your group may participate in force-free theory workshops and horse training, learning the science of how horses perceive humans and how to communicate without force.

Please Note Before Applying:

• Securing Your Stay: We require a 15% down payment of your final fees within one week of paying your Volunteer World deposit to secure your accommodation.

• Food & Cooking: For groups, grocery costs are not included. You are responsible for your own shopping and cooking. The nearest supermarket is 30 minutes away by car (bus and taxi options available).

• Meat-Free Ethos: Our strictly meat-free rule applies to our shared sanctuary accommodation and any groceries provided by us. If you are staying in external accommodation and managing your own catering, you are free to follow your own dietary preferences.

• Horse Interaction & Safety: We ask all members to refrain from touching the horses until they receive specific training. This is crucial for the horses' rehabilitation and your safety.

• Non-Riding Sanctuary: We are a strictly non-riding sanctuary focused on ground-based interaction and bond-building.

• Independence: Groups must arrive with their own leaders who remain responsible for the group's internal management. We do not take on a parental or supervisory role for underage participants.

• Physicality: Work is often physically demanding manual labour in a mountain environment.

Living Sustainably Beyond group life, we aim to live as sustainably as possible. We avoid processed food and products containing palm oil. No smoking is permitted on the project site due to fire risk, and we use a natural compost toilet system on the land to protect our environment.

The Sanctuary Mission Time and Space Equine Education Sanctuary is a registered association. Our goal is to work with nature to fulfil human and horse needs, using innovative designs to meld together beauty, practicality, and sustainability. Your group’s help is vital to keeping this project thriving.
