This inclusive daycare is located in Njiro Arusha. It is seeking experienced professionals to support and enrich its work with children with disabilities. The centre is dedicated to integrating children with disabilities into everyday activities, fostering a strong sense of community, inclusion, and mutual learning between children, staff, and volunteers.

The founders of the daycare are committed to creating an environment where children with disabilities and their typically developing peers grow and learn together. At the same time, it values the exchange of knowledge and perspectives between international volunteers and the local daycare team, recognizing that inclusive care is strongest when learning flows in both directions.

The daily program includes morning lessons focused on foundational skills such as reading, writing, and arithmetic. In the afternoon, activities expand into more creative and experiential areas such as baking, dancing, crafts, outdoor walks, and other shared experiences that encourage participation and collaboration.

While therapeutic elements may be incorporated where appropriate, Joyhub is intentionally a daycare centre rather than a therapy facility. The focus remains on inclusive daily care, participation, and learning through everyday interactions. However, the founders acknowledge that working inclusively with children with disabilities requires specific skills and understanding, making professional experience an important contribution to the team.

You as a professional will work closely with the daycare staff, engaging in a reciprocal learning process: sharing professional knowledge while also learning from the local team’s experience, cultural context, and established practices. The goal is to strengthen the team as a whole and build sustainable, context-sensitive approaches to inclusion.

Beyond mentoring and knowledge exchange, you will have the opportunity to work directly with some of the children, co-create afternoon activities that gently integrate therapeutic aspects, and develop creative ideas together with the team. Joyhub offers a high degree of freedom in shaping your role, encouraging initiative, creativity, and openness to learning from one another.

It takes around 50 minutes to get to the daycare from the accommodation, and you can get there easily using public transport.
