    Center for wildlife conservation with jaguar but as well animals in help like monkeys or birds

    As a volunteer you will work in fields of related to conservation, education and social development. This program if for people who love animals and the environment, as well for biology and environment students to make an internship semester.

    About the program

    As a volunteer you will work in fields of related to conservation, education and social development. This program if for people who love animals and the environment, as well for biology and environment students to make an internship semester.
    During your volunteering you will help in following areas:
    • Wildlife feeding
    • Environmental education
    • Wildlife care (including cleaning)
    • Paths maintenance
    • Seedlings Production
    • give informaiton to tourist and local communities about the important to protect the wildlife and nature (in this field just long term volunteers do help)
    We do welcome short and long term volunteers as well students from universities for their internship. During your stay you will live in a shared dorm with five other volunteers. The accommodation is directly at the center. This center do have a biologist and veterinarian, which do help with all their love this amazing project.

    Typical day

    At a tipical day you help as a volunteer or intern between 4-5 hours. At this project you help from Monday till Friday. As you are working with animals all days can be a little different. Usually a day looks like:
    8:30-10:00 – Wildlife care and feeding
    10:00-11:00 – Maintenance
    11:00-12:00 - ...

    Macas despite has plenty of touristic places to visit, and activities to do in the volunteer free time of being very safe for the tourist who visit the city, having some bars well prepared to receive the visitors.     Macas despite has plenty of touristic places to visit, and activities to do in the volunteer free time of being very safe for the tourist who visit the city, having some bars well prepared to receive the visitors. Also places as Yantza waterfalls in shuar community, Laverintos del Chiguaza an natural maze in the banks of Pastaza River.
    Or in the weekends visit in two hours the city of Baños were the volunteer can visit the well know tree colupio del fin del mundo and make extreme sport as rafting, bungie jumping or more, but also would visit going to the south of Ecuador at Cuenca city one of the most beautiful cities in Ecuador or visit beach.

    Minimum Age: 18 years

    In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

    You need to speak English (intermediate level)

    No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome.

    Time Commitment

    Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 07:30 - 16:30

    Airport Pickup at Mariscal Sucre International Airport

    You get a pick up from the airport in Quito and bring you to the bus terminal. From their you will take the bus to Macas. From their you will get a pick up to the project. We also have the option of a privat taxi (with extra cost). Please let us know if you like to get this option.
    If flight arrive at the after noon we need to organize a day overnight in Quito.

    Accommodation

    Your accommodation is directly at the project in volunteer house in a dorm room.
