A minimum stay of two weeks is recommended to experience Kenya's wildlife and rich culture. Those able to stay the three weeks and above would fly into Nairobi, Kenya, and leave out of Mombasa, Kenya (the last Rest and Recovery location). (Nairobi, Kenya, Round Trip for those staying less than three weeks).

NB:
- In Kenya, foreign doctors require a temporary medical licence to practice. To get a licence, apply by April 2nd. Late applicants may still volunteer under the supervision of Licensed local doctors
These efforts have successfully provided medical care, starting with 3,857 patients in 2022, 5,493 patients in the 2023 calendar year, 10,906 in 2024, and 13928 patients' lives were saved from 19 May – 6 June 2025. The primary requirement is resources to sustain the clinic. The Kenyan community / the Ministry of Health, and / Kenya National Health have shown strong support for this initiative.
Most meals (Breakfast and dinner at our accommodation with Lunch provided on-site at the Medical Camp / Clinic) will be included, but there will also be opportunities for personal exploration of local dining options.
Clinic days are scheduled for Monday through Thursday during the first week. From Friday to Sunday, volunteers will have the chance to go on a safari to the Masai Mara National Reserve, organized by Meaningful Tours and Travel, a partner organization of UCESCO Africa. The Masai Mara is a world-renowned wildlife destination, celebrated for its expansive savannahs, diverse wildlife, and the spectacular annual Great Migration of wildebeest, making it a top safari location in East Africa.
During the second week, clinical activities will continue from Monday to Friday, followed by weekend tours of the Kibera slums, the Giraffe Centre, the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, and Bomas of Kenya (showcases traditional Kenyan culture and offers city tours of Nairobi). Cost already covered, with the exception of some meals.
In the third week, the clinic plan is from Monday to Friday, with a shortened schedule on Friday. In the evening, a dinner will be held to express gratitude to both volunteers and local doctors and local volunteers. This gathering will serve as a time for reflection on areas needing improvement for next year, and we will share our experiences while enjoying our final meal with the local community. The following day, volunteers will travel on a short flight to Mombasa for a two-night, three-day stay before returning to their home country, flying out of Mombasa. Mombasa is Kenya's premier tourist destination, located on the eastern coast next to the Indian Ocean, renowned for its stunning beaches. This cost is covered for those staying three weeks with the exception of a few meals at this location.
Accommodation: UCESCO has arranged a comfortable and relaxing apartment in a desirable area of Nairobi, conveniently located near popular malls, banks, and restaurants. This area is known for its safety and is favored by expatriates and foreigners. The apartment is clean, cozy, and comfortable.
Transportation: During the medical camp, UCESCO Africa will arrange for a bus/minibus to transport volunteers throughout the three-week period. Since we will be working as a team, the organization prefers that volunteers travel together. This transportation will be available to take volunteers from their accommodations to the medical camp sites and for city tours.
At the conclusion of the mission, UCESCO Africa will present certificates of appreciation to the individuals and Churches/mosques/institutions, organizations who have contributed, and to each volunteer during the final dinner. Over the second weekend in Nairobi, we plan to share meals with the children at Peggy Lucas School. Participation in this activity is optional and will depend on the volunteers ' interest and availability. Any school items volunteers can bring for the children, especially things they no longer use, would be greatly appreciated, as these children are truly wonderful but in great need.
