    -The Projects-

    1. Seliani Lutheran Hospital:
Providing Essential Healthcare Service to over 300 patients daily

Located in the heart of Maasai country, Seliani Lutheran Hospital provides essential healthcare to over 300 patients daily, serving communities with limited access to modern care.
Volunteers play a key role alongside local doctors and nurses, assisting with patient care, maternity services, and treatment of conditions such as tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and mental health challenges.
Whether supporting new mothers, helping patients manage chronic illnesses, or observing rural medicine in action, you’ll gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of global health.
This project is ideal for medical students or professionals seeking to make a real impact while learning in a resource-limited yet inspiring environment.

This project requires a monthly donation of $200 USD to add for resource funding and hospital support.

    2. Oltrumet Hospital:
District-Level Healthcare Facility Service 500+ Patients Monthly

Oltrumet Hospital in Arusha, Tanzania, is a district-level facility serving 500–600 patients monthly, including around 172 mothers, providing essential healthcare across emergency medicine, surgery, maternal care, and general patient services.

Volunteers support local medical staff in various departments, assisting with patient care, emergencies, midwifery, and daily hospital operations. This program offers hands-on, real-world experience for healthcare students and professionals, enhancing medical skills while understanding the challenges of healthcare in rural settings.

    Typical day

Each day begins with a bus ride from your accommodation in Arusha to the hospital via public transport. Once you arrive, you’ll meet with the in-charge doctor to go over the day’s tasks and any specific medical needs. Depending on your skills and interests, you may rotate between various departments, including emergency care, midwifery, pharmacy, or surgery.

Your work will involve both direct patient care (such as assisting with deliveries, providing medical support, or helping with minor procedures) and supporting hospital operations, such as preparing medical supplies or assisting in the pharmacy. Every day presents a new set of challenges and learning opportunities, as you work in a fast-paced environment where your contributions are truly appreciated.

You will finish your day at 3:00 pm, but there’s flexibility to work additional hours, including night shifts or weekends if desired. This ensures that you gain as much hands-on experience as possible while helping meet the community’s needs.
