    About the program

Give your medical career a boost through this extremely useful and learning experience of volunteering under the medical internship program in Delhi

    About the program

A large Delhi hospital sees a volume and variety of cases that a teaching hospital in Europe or North America simply does not. That is the value of this elective: not that you will do more, but that you will see far more, and see it managed under very different constraints.

You choose the departments you rotate through. The list is unusually broad — Emergency, inpatient wards, Critical Care, Operating Theatre, Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, Radiology and imaging, Dialysis, Laboratory, Blood Bank, Pharmacy and Nursing. Most students pick two or three and go deep rather than sampling everything.

This is an observational elective. You shadow consultants and their teams, attend rounds, and learn by watching experienced clinicians work; you are not there to practise beyond your training, and the hospital is clear about that boundary. Students consistently report that the sheer case volume is what makes it worthwhile.

The placement hospital sits close to some of Delhi's best areas and markets, so the city is genuinely accessible in your own time. The Taj Mahal is a straightforward day trip, and Qutub Minar, the Red Fort and India Gate are all in reach of a free afternoon.
