    About the program

The Hands-On Physiotherapy Internship in Nepal Hospitals is a unique opportunity for medical and physiotherapy students to gain practical, real-world experience while contributing to healthcare in a developing country. This internship is designed for students and graduates of physiotherapy or related medical fields who wish to enhance their clinical knowledge, skills, and global health perspective.

Nepal faces many healthcare challenges, particularly in the rehabilitation of patients with physical disabilities, chronic pain, neurological conditions, and post-surgical recovery. In hospitals and rehabilitation centers, many patients are unable to afford long-term therapy or do not have regular access to trained physiotherapists. As an intern, you will work under the supervision of qualified Nepali physiotherapists and doctors to support rehabilitation efforts and improve patients’ quality of life.

    During the internship, you will:

    • Assist in daily physiotherapy sessions with patients in hospitals and rehabilitation clinics

    • Learn techniques for orthopedic, neurological, and pediatric rehabilitation

    • Help patients recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic conditions to regain mobility and strength

    • Participate in therapy for children and adults with physical disabilities and developmental delays

    • Support community outreach programs that raise awareness about physiotherapy and preventive healthcare

    • Shadow local professionals and gain insights into healthcare systems in low-resource settings

This internship balances learning and contribution. You will gain clinical exposure and practical skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients who rely on these services.

    Beyond the Internship

Your experience is not limited to hospital work. Living in Nepal offers an incredible cultural and personal journey. You will stay in the Kathmandu Valley, a vibrant hub of spirituality, culture, and tradition. On weekends and free time, you can explore world heritage sites, Buddhist monasteries, Hindu temples, or even go trekking in the Himalayas.

This program is more than an academic placement — it is a chance to grow as a healthcare professional while immersing yourself in the warmth and hospitality of Nepalese culture.
