Details on arrival
The Eco-Volunteer program offers flexible start dates throughout the year, arranged in advance according to availability and project needs. However, we recommend volunteering between April and October, when temperatures are cooler and conditions are more comfortable. Outside of this period, temperatures increase and rainfall is more frequent.
Volunteers usually arrive in Lima, Peru’s capital. For those traveling by bus to Chiclayo, our team can pick you up, assist and guide volunteers to the bus station in Lima. Once in Chiclayo, volunteers are picked up and transported directly to the volunteer house and project location.
After arrival, volunteers begin a three-day induction period. This orientation is designed to help volunteers settle in and adapt smoothly to the eco-volunteer lifestyle. During these days, volunteers are introduced to daily routines, animal care, garden and fieldwork, water distribution and irrigation systems, solar energy maintenance, and house guidelines.
This arrival and induction process ensures that volunteers feel welcomed, informed, and fully prepared before starting their regular responsibilities.
