    About the program

The Teaching Program aims to enrich the lives of youth and adults at risk of social exclusion by strengthening their language skills and helping them build confidence in their potential. Volunteers primarily assist in teaching English, focusing on vocabulary and spoken communication, while those with intermediate Spanish may also support Spanish classes for immigrant communities.

Through this program, volunteers contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), while promoting cultural exchange and supporting local organizations in creating a positive and lasting community impact.

    What to Expect:

    • A dynamic and multicultural environment within local NGOs and schools
    • The opportunity to support youth and/or adults from diverse social and cultural backgrounds
    • A flexible and adaptive teaching experience based on the needs of each organization
    • Cultural exchange and meaningful community engagement
    • Close collaboration with local staff and guidance from a project coordinator

    Daily Tasks:

Tasks vary depending on the hosting organization and whether the project works with youth or adults. Depending on the specific project and target group assigned, volunteers may:

    • Plan and support English language lessons focused on vocabulary development and conversational skills
    • Assist in Spanish classes within immigrant community projects (for volunteers with intermediate Spanish)
    • Create engaging and interactive educational activities adapted to the students’ ages, levels, and needs
    • Support youth with homework and combine lessons with recreational activities such as songs, games, storytelling, or outdoor activities
    • Deliver sector-specific vocabulary sessions for adults (e.g., tourism, administration, health, customer service, and other professional fields)
    • Assist organizations in adapting educational content according to beneficiaries’ professional or personal goals
    • Collaborate closely with local staff and maintain open communication with the project coordinator
