Details on arrival
You can start the project whenever it best fits your schedule! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our friendly driver (easily recognizable by a Viva Tanzania shirt or sign) will be waiting to welcome you and take you safely to your accommodation.
Your adventure begins with an orientation tour of Arusha, where you’ll get familiar with local life: learning how to use public transport, finding ATMs and currency exchange points, discovering local food spots, and purchasing a SIM card with mobile data.
On your first project day, our volunteer coordinator will accompany you to your placement, introduce you to the team, and make sure you feel confident and comfortable finding your way to the school. From there, your meaningful journey of teaching, learning, and connection truly begins! 🌟
