For decades, Kenya has attracted wildlife lovers, adventurous travelers and nature-loving artists, as it is a country full of unique landscapes and a great cultural heritage. Unfortunately, however, a large part of its population finds itself in situations of poverty and economic hardship that prevent their children from accessing quality education.

This need has led many organizations and communities to look for tools and possible solutions to this problem, which facilitate the daily lives of these vulnerable people. Adventure Volunteer is one of these associations, which supports vulnerable communities in Kenya through the volunteer program of reinforcement and school support for children and young people with limited resources. We believe that by serving the children in these communities, we can empower them to aim to improve the quality of life and fight against the social disadvantage they face on a daily basis. 

As a volunteer in Kenya, you should be aware that we do not have enough staff to cope with the demand for work that we currently have. We hope that our volunteers will bring new ideas and teaching methodologies that will motivate our children and youth to continue learning and build a better future for them.

We work mainly with children between 3 and 8 years old in the mornings and children between 9 and 14 years old in the afternoons. Volunteers interested in providing sexual and emotional education will work with young children between the ages of 10 and 21. Classes are organized in the following subjects: 

• English, Mathematics, Computer Science and Sports.
• Art, dance and music activities
• Health and hygiene talks
• Cooking classes, painting, gardening, etc.
• Storytelling and theater
• Collaborate in the cleaning and maintenance of the center.
• Assisting center staff
• All of the above will be complemented with leisure and free time activities that seek to promote socio-educational integration, tolerance and solidarity in the children living in these communities.
