Details on arrival
Arrival day is on Saturday.
Upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you'll be warmly welcomed by one of our trusted local drivers and transferred to the wayers Home on Sri Lanka's beautiful south coast. Once you arrive, our local team will be there to welcome you, show you around your new home, and introduce you to the other volunteers.
If you arrive on Saturday during the day, you'll have time to settle into your room, recover from your journey, and get to know the volunteer community. On Saturday evening, you'll attend your first welcome briefing, where our team will explain everything you need to know about your stay, including life at the wayers Home, local customs, safety information, transportation, and your volunteer project.
On Sunday, you'll explore the local area together with a member of our team. During this orientation, you'll discover nearby beaches, supermarkets, cafés, ATMs, and other useful places, while receiving plenty of insider tips to help you feel at home from day one.
By Monday morning, you'll be ready to start your volunteer experience at the dog sanctuary with the rest of the group.
