    About the program

As a Medical volunteers in Nepal with NVDP Volunteer, you will have a wonderful opportunity to gain first hand experience and insight  into Nepal health care while volunteering in Nepal medical program, you can expect to have exciting experiences everyday. You will get to fulfill your passion of making a difference while gaining medical experience in a developing country.

Health is a major issue in Nepal. still many Nepalese lose their lives because of minor diseases like diarrhea, jaundice and dengue. Country is coping with the challenge of reducing infant and maternal mortality rate. Volunteering in Nepal for medical and health care services will make you a part of this mission of minimizing health challenges in Nepal.

As a NVDP medical volunteer you will be working in various fields of medical and health care services to gain medical experiences abroad. You can help medical representatives of hospitals in the field of general health services, nursing, ENT, Orthopedic, Dental, EMT or medicine sectors. You have to let us know your particular interests when you apply so that we can make arrangements for you to volunteer in that specific area. Depending on your interest you can take part in out reach programs organized by the local hospitals.

Your role is purely observational as a medical volunteer in Nepal, so you should not expect any hands-on involvement. Depending on your interests, you will be placed within different departments and you will be attached to an English-speaking member of staff. Please note there may still be a communication barrier and the staff will do their best to translate when they can.

As the role is purely observational, we recommend that applicants sign up for no more than 4 weeks as a medical volunteer in Nepal. In our experience, whilst you will gain invaluable medical insight and knowledge at the private hospital, after a while, most people are eager for some hands-on volunteer work in Nepal. Whilst NVDP cannot offer you hands-on work as a medical volunteer in Nepal, However if you like to have internship in the medical then you can have until 2 weeks to 20 weeks internship program for you.
