    Sobre el programa

Volunteers will be based primarily in Bolgatanga, the capital of the Upper East Region of Ghana. Bolgatanga is a peaceful and culturally rich town known for its vibrant markets, traditional crafts (especially basket weaving), and welcoming communities. The atmosphere is relaxed compared to larger cities like Accra, offering an authentic experience of northern Ghanaian life.

Our work also extends to surrounding rural communities, including low-income and nomadic settlements where we implement water, education, and healthcare projects. Volunteers may travel to these communities to capture field activities, interviews, and project documentation.

Accommodation is arranged in a shared volunteer house or guesthouse in Bolgatanga. The setting is modest but comfortable, with access to basic amenities such as electricity, running water, Wi-Fi (though connectivity can sometimes be unstable), and local markets nearby.

This placement is ideal for individuals who are adaptable, open-minded, and excited to experience community-centered development work firsthand.

    Role Overview

As part of the Digital Marketing Team, you will enhance the organization’s marketing strategy and create regular social media content, including:

    • Newsletters

    • Blog articles

    • Instagram and TikTok videos

    • Instagram and Facebook posts

    • Photography and video documentation of daily activities

You will learn how to design, plan, and effectively implement a social media and marketing strategy. Through weekly reports and analytics tracking, you will evaluate the effectiveness of promotional strategies and adapt content accordingly.

    You will collaborate closely with:

    • Local partners

    • Program teams (WASH, Education, Health, Fundraising)

    • The fundraising department to promote active campaigns

    • Any preferred editing software (if licensed personally)

Basic office equipment and internet access will be provided, though volunteers should be prepared for occasional power or connectivity interruptions.

    Duration & Impact

We recommend a minimum stay of 4–8 weeks to ensure meaningful contribution and learning. Longer stays allow volunteers to design, implement, and evaluate full campaigns.

This role is ideal for students, recent graduates, or professionals in marketing, communications, journalism, media, or related fields who want to apply their skills to meaningful social impact work.
