    À propos du programme

Join a unique group volunteering program deep in the Brazilian Amazon, your experience will start at a remote jungle camp on a tributary of the Rio Negro, approximately 1.5 hours by speedboat from Manaus. From there will focus on different preselected locations to study. This project combines hands-on biodiversity research, conservation action, cultural exchange, and unforgettable Amazon jungle experiences.

Working alongside experienced jungle survival specialists and local guides, volunteers will contribute to real biodiversity studies while supporting local communities and promoting sustainable eco-tourism in the region.

    Project Focus

The core of this program is biodiversity monitoring and conservation. Volunteers will help document wildlife and plant species in selected jungle areas, contributing valuable data to a dedicated project, where all findings will be recorded and shared openly for scientific and educational use.

    The project also focuses on:

    • Raising awareness in local communities about the benefits of conservation and eco-tourism

    • Environmental clean-up efforts along rivers and forest areas

    • Supporting sustainable, low-impact tourism initiatives

This is a group volunteering project, running several times a year, and is suitable for motivated volunteers with an interest in wildlife, ecology, conservation, or adventure-based learning.

    What You’ll Be Doing

Activities vary depending on the season and research focus, but typically include:

    • Wildlife and plant species identification (mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and flora)

    • Biodiversity surveys and field observations

    • Uploading and documenting findings on the projects database.

    • Learning basic field research methods and jungle tracking skills

    • Environmental clean-ups in forest and river areas

    • Community visits and informal environmental education activities

No advanced scientific background is required—training and guidance are provided in the field.

    Unique Amazon Experiences

Beyond conservation work, this program offers once-in-a-lifetime jungle experiences, including:

    • Swimming with wild pink river dolphins

    • Piranha fishing using traditional techniques

    • Bow-and-arrow fishing and spear fishing

    • Guided jungle walks and night safaris

    • A full-day jungle survival course, covering shelter building, fire making, edible plants, and survival techniques used by local experts

These activities are an integral part of understanding the Amazon ecosystem and learning how people and wildlife coexist.

    What is expected from you?

No previous experience is required however we do expect you to try to part of the team and work together with the other volunteers and staff. Being flexible and openminded is very important.

    What to bring?

We will provide a kit list with everything you need to bring and what we will provide (hammocks, netting, etc).

    Journée typique

The typical day will vary greatly depending on the selected location and time of year. Days in the Amazon follow the rhythm of the jungle and may vary depending on weather, wildlife activity, and research priorities. While no two days are exactly the same, a typical day may look like this:

The day usually starts early with breakfast at the jungle camp, followed by a briefing on the day’s activities. Mornings are often dedicated to biodiversity surveys, guided jungle walks, and wildlife observation, when animal activity is at its highest. Volunteers help identify and record species, take photographs, and upload observations to the project’s  database.

After lunch and a short rest during the hottest part of the day, afternoons may include environmental clean-up activities, river exploration by boat, or visits to nearby local communities to learn about daily life, traditional knowledge, and the role of eco-tourism in conservation.

Late afternoons are a time to relax, swim in the river, or assist with light camp tasks. As the sun sets, volunteers may take part in night walks or boat excursions to spot nocturnal wildlife such as caimans, frogs, insects, and night birds.

Evenings are spent together at camp, sharing dinner, reviewing the day’s wildlife findings, uploading data, and learning from the jungle specialists. Some evenings include storytelling, cultural exchange, or discussions about conservation challenges in the Amazon.

Schedules remain flexible to allow for special activities such as dolphin encounters, fishing excursions, jungle survival training, or indigenous community visits.

    Activités de loisirs

    Activités de loisirs

During downtime, volunteers are encouraged to slow down and enjoy life in the Amazon rainforest. Free time can be spent relaxing in a hammock, swimming in the river, reading a book, or listening to music while surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.

Many volunteers enjoy simply observing nature watching birds and monkeys pass by, listening to frogs and insects, or enjoying the changing light over the river. Fishing is also possible during free time, as well as exploring the immediate surroundings of the camp with guidance.

Evenings are often calm and social, with time to relax, reflect on the day, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the rainforest. With no city distractions, free time becomes an opportunity to fully disconnect, recharge, and connect with nature.

At our Jungle base (which you will partly spent your time at) you will have access to WIFI, electricity and also you will have telephone signal.
