    Volunteers will assist Doctors and Nurses in daily tasks, from assisting patients with their difficulties in organizing to providing patient support and nursing tasks. We work with the volunteers to determine which department and tasks suites them best for completion, whether that be nursing tasks, administrative tasks or working as an assistant to the doctors. The hospital/clinic program allows those with a desire to educate the opportunity to ensure patients understanding of materials and to provide extra assistance that the Doctors and Nurses may be overburdened to give. Volunteers get the opportunity to expand or earn their intercultural skills through discussing different health related topics with Doctors, Nurses and patients. Programmed transportation will be provided to and from work each day.

    Volunteers will work hand in hand with the Doctors and Nurses each day according to the daily activities. The Volunteers will be at the Hospital/Clinic in the morning and work when it's their time to work and take a break when it's time to. During the end period of the hospital/Clinic, the Doctors or Nurses will decide if the Volunteer should stay and help or go home. Volunteers will work typical hospital hours either morning shift or night shift beginning at 8 am and working until 2 pm or 4 pm and 6pm-12am or 3 am depending on the day or night progress.

    History not your thing? Instead travel around the area and take in the beautiful scenery, learn to surf, play football with the locals, hike, or just hang out on the beach. With so much to do filling your free time will not be hard!

    Minimum leeftijd: 18 jaar

    Om deel te nemen aan het programma dien je tenminste 18 jaar oud te zijn op de startdatum van het programma. Er kunnen uitzonderingen gemaakt worden indien je een bewijs van toestemming kan aantonen van uw wettelijke voogd(en) of samen met je ouders deelneemt.

    The amount paid above covers the documents for applying for visa, project fees, accommodation, transportation and food. Part of fees will also go towards donations, paying for school fees and school supplies for children who can not afford it so that they can stay in school and paying for hospital bills for those who can not afford it.

    Volunteers will send us their flight details and we will be at the airport waiting for their arrival. We will pick up the individuals from the airport and take them to the hotel if the arrival is in the late evening. If volunteers arrive during the day they will be taken directly to the host family in Cape Coast, unless otherwise requested.

    Accomodatie

    Volunteers stay in a fully furnished house with a host family, typically 3 or 4 to a room, but rooms can be adjusted for privacy if desired but will incure extra fees. The house is equipped fully, with electricity, internet, pipe water and a fully stocked kitchen. The house is a 10 minute drive from the center of town.

    Eten & Drank

    Food will be provided for breakfast and dinner, volunteers are responsible for their own lunch. The menu can be adjusted based upon dietary restriction. Local and continental food will be provided at all times.

    Gegevens over jouw aankomst

    Volunteers will be met at the airport in Accra and taken to the host family in Cape Coast. In Cape Coast, volunteers will have an orientation where your coordinator will help acclimate the volunteers to the Ghanaian culture,  tour the capital city and give a project introduction. The host house is equipped with all furnishing and amenities including consistent internet. The complete stay at our host house includes breakfast and dinner for the duration of the stay. Upon completion of the volunteer program, a certificate of completion will be awarded. Start and end dates are extremely flexible as we work with volunteers to find the best length for them while supporting the continuous nature of the program. We do not have specific start and end dates, we will work with you to find the best time!
