About the program

Peru has got its own very special horse race: El Paso Peruano. Being known for its kind of funny way of walking it is unique in this world and its sold to many different places around the planet. Therefore there is a lot of people working with that horses as well as breading them.
Help with the stable administration of one horse owner and train his horses. If necessary you can also help with feeding and veterinarian treatment.

You are going to work together with the Horse owner, who at the moments owns more than 15 horses. He is a very polite and friendly, open-minded person who always warmly accept Volunteers from foreign countries. He also likes to hear your and speak about your current experience with horses and how horses at your country are being treated and respected. That kind of intercultural exchange is going to help both sides to understand, how the work has to be done. Moreover you can help to improve things at the stable, when you handle things at your country another way.

You are going to work at a stable in the Mantaro Valley in Peru in Huancayo´s (our family house/your sleeping place) surroundings. This program combines administration work with working with the animals. All kinds of improvement are warmly welcomed.

There you will work either at the office and helping with administration works or working with the horses (training them, getting prepared for tournaments, feeding them, helping curing them and giving advice whenever you can).
After finishing work you come back home where food is going to be served and you can relax.

You can choose yourself if you'd like to work half or full day.
Your timetable is quite flexible and we can check it with the horse owner so both sides are going to be happy and satisfied.
