    Here you will have the opportunity to be in direct contact with nature and our Costa Rica culture, here, the conservation of sea turtles  is the reason of this initiative creates by a family committed to the turtle conservation for several years, now with the help of volunteers around the world we can make this dream grow and save more turtles

    We want people who want to live the Costa Rican experience, who are interested in our culture and our love for the conservation of natural resources.

    Actividies: beach cleaning, hatchery care, night patrols in search of turtles, from which we collect scientific data and rescue their eggs, which are taken to a safe place (hatchery) here we protect them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until the babies are hatch. We also ...

    Actividies: beach cleaning, hatchery care, night patrols in search of turtles, from which we collect scientific data and rescue their eggs, which are taken to a safe place (hatchery) here we protect them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until the babies are hatch. We also do social, maintenance work in the community hall and school, when it's requered

    Working hours: breakfast is at 8 a.m., at 9:30 a.m. of communal work or maintenance until 11:30. 
    Working with turtles: the hours of care of the hatchery is 4 hours per shift one person per day and 2 people during the night from 8am to 12pm; 12pm to 4pm; 4pm to 8pm; 8pm to midnight; midnight to 4am. Patrol Schedule for collecting scientific data: 8pm to midnight and midnight to 4am. This is done in groups of 2 to 6 people per patrol, each patrol is accompanied by a member of the camp 
    Turtle season: olive readley turtle season its starting on June to December 
    Baby turtle are hatching from August to January

    Our volunteers will have the chance to spend their time enjoying the wild life and meeting many different animals.

    Furthermore, they can do sports on the beach or simply tan and relax while enjoying a good book.

    Or go and enjoy one of the most popular beaches in Costa Rica Jaco Beach 

    Also they can spend time together with the locals and enjoy getting to know a new culture. This is always a great opportunity to make new friends as well.

    During the free time the volunteers will have the opportunity to do many things, among them: hiking, snorkeling, horseback riding, kayaking, swimming, enjoying the beach, fishing, playing sports or simply relaxing in a hammock enjoying the sounds of the nature around and meet the most biodiverse place in the world as Corcovado national park.

    Minimum Age: 18 years

    In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

    Language Skills

    You need to speak English (basic level)

    Nationality Restrictions

    No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome.

    Other Skills

    Working hours may vary depending on the season and the number of volunteers.

    Time Commitment

    Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 09:00 - 11:00

    On-site Services

    Our program includes: accommodation on site, 3 meals a day as well as the support of 2 Volunteer coordinators who will be attentive to coordinate anything you need before during and even once the program is over.

    We also offer the opportunity to our volunteers to combine programs, even if you only applied for one program and wish to divide your stay in any of our programs, we will take care of coordinating your reservation and transfer to the other camp (the change of programs is subject to availability of space in the programs)

    Accommodation

    We live in a house with 2 rooms for, on the ground floor 1 room for 4 persons and on the top floor 1 room for 10 people each. The house has a bath and shower.

    Our house it's located just in 100 meters from the beach in Esterillos Oeste 10 km south to Jaco Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Costa Rica 

    Food & Beverages

    The basis of the Costa Rican diet is rice and beans, which we accompany with salad, vegetables or meat, always with the typical flavors of the tropical country and seasonal fruits at breakfast
