Your Role and Responsibilities
As a program participant, you will be a fundamental part of the team, providing direct support in diagnoses and treatments alongside expert veterinarians. Each day represents an opportunity to learn by handling real situations, from the attentive care of hospitalized patients to advising owners on optimal animal care practices. You will develop valuable practical skills, enhance your ability to respond in medical situations, and build a solid foundation of veterinary knowledge.

With whom will you be working? You will not be observing from the sidelines; you will work shoulder-to-shoulder with a dedicated team of local professionals, including licensed veterinarians, experienced veterinary technicians, and clinic support staff. Expectations and Requirements

Veterinary work can be demanding and requires emotional resilience, patience, and a willingness to help with all aspects of clinic maintenance—from high-level medical observation to cleaning kennels. A respectful attitude towards local staff and protocols is essential. While fluency is not required, a basic understanding of Spanish is highly beneficial for daily interactions.
Equipment and Gear: To ensure safety and professionalism in the clinical environment, volunteers are required to bring:
- Closed-toe shoes: Comfortable, non-slip, closed shoes are mandatory to protect your feet from medical equipment and fluids.
- Stethoscope: If you are a veterinary student or professional, bringing your own stethoscope is recommended, though not strictly mandatory.
