Classroom Support Experience
Highlights
- Program placements begin on the 1st and 15th of each month.
- Includes airport pick up, orientation, accommodation in either a volunteer house or local homestay, meals, and 24/7 in-country support.
- Volunteer several hours per day teaching in schools or community education centres across Nairobi - supporting children and, in some cases, adults with IVHQ.
- Tasks may include planning and delivering lessons in English, maths or other subjects, tutoring, helping with homework, leading educational games or activities, and collaborating with local teachers.

Start Dates:
Programs start on the first and third Monday of each month and are available year round.
Arrival and Orientation:
- Designated Arrival Day: Sunday.
- Arrival Airport: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi (NBO), Kenya.
- Arrival Notes: Airport pick up is included as part of the fully hosted experience. Volunteers are met at the airport by a member of the local team and transferred to the volunteer accommodation in Nairobi.
- Orientation: A 1 day Orientation is included and typically begins on your selected Monday start date. This session covers an introduction to local staff, Kenyan customs, safety guidelines, program expectations, and an overview of the volunteer placement.
