    Volunteers stay in guesthouses, team housing, or camping setups, depending on the project plan and community. All options are safe, clean, and provide an authentic experience of Ghanaian life. Our team will support you throughout your stay to ensure a smooth and enriching experience.

    Each day is carefully designed to balance meaningful service, cultural immersion, and team bonding. Volunteers engage in activities that contribute to the community while experiencing the daily rhythm of life in Sogakope. Here’s what a day might look like:

    Each day is carefully designed to balance meaningful service, cultural immersion, and team bonding. Volunteers engage in activities that contribute to the community while experiencing the daily rhythm of life in Sogakope. Here’s what a day might look like:

    7:00 AM – Breakfast & Morning Briefing
    Start the day with a hearty breakfast. A short team briefing follows, outlining the schedule, project assignments, and cultural or safety reminders.

    8:00 AM – Movement to the School
    Enjoy a scenic 15–30 minute walk to the project site. This is often a time for lively conversations and taking in the views of rural Ghana.

    9:00 AM – Classroom Engagement
    Work alongside local teachers to support lessons in English, French, mathematics, or creative activities such as music, dance, and games. Volunteers help bring lessons alive for classrooms averaging 50–60 students.

    11:00 AM – Hands-On Project Work
    Break into smaller groups for community projects, which may include:

    • Painting and improving classroom spaces

    • Assisting in construction Activities

    • Supporting the nutrition project (including activities with pregnant mothers)

    • Other Activities as approved by team 

    12:30 PM – Lunch at the School
    Share a freshly prepared lunch delivered by a local caterer. Meals on-site allow time to rest, connect, and enjoy conversations with fellow volunteers and community members.

    1:30 PM – Afternoon Engagement
    Even after classes end around 2:30 PM, many children stay back. Volunteers lead fun, interactive sessions such as reading circles, mentorship activities, sports, or arts and crafts.

    3:30 PM – Community or Cultural Activity
    Experience life beyond the classroom. Depending on the day, activities may include community visits and cultural workshops like pottery-making.

    5:00 PM – Close of Project & Reflection
    Head back to the lodge for free time to relax or freshen up. A short debrief session allows the team to reflect on highlights, challenges, and lessons from the day.

    7:00 PM – Dinner & Social Time
    Enjoy dinner together, followed by an evening of team bonding — from playing games and cultural sharing to discussing broader development issues in Ghana.

    9:30 PM – Rest
    Unwind and recharge, ready for another day of service and discovery.

    Weekends are designed to balance rest and exploration — giving you time to recharge while deepening your connection with Ghana’s culture, people, and landscapes.

    In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

    Other Skills

    Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 08:00 - 16:00

    The fee includes: accommodation, three daily meals, in-country orientation, transportation to project sites, cultural immersion activities, and ongoing administrative support. Your contribution directly sustains community projects and supports local facilitators. There are no hidden costs — just a transparent and impactful exchange experience. Please note that volunteers are responsible for their own airfare, visa fees, travel insurance, and personal expenses.

    Airport Pickup at Kotoka International Airport

    Upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport (Accra), volunteers will be warmly welcomed by a member of our team. From there, you’ll travel together by private or shared vehicle to Sogakope, a scenic journey of about 3 to 3.5 hours. Once in Sogakope, you’ll receive a brief orientation to help you settle in, get acquainted with the program, and feel at home before beginning your volunteer activities.

    • Volunteers will be accommodated in clean and secure guesthouses or at our designated camping sites in Sogakope. Both options provide access to shared washrooms and common areas. Staying within local communities offers a unique opportunity for deeper cultural immersion. We prioritize comfort, safety, and meaningful cultural learning in all accommodation arrangements.

    Food & Beverages

    Volunteers will enjoy three freshly prepared meals each day, featuring a variety of delicious Ghanaian dishes. Typical meals include rice, yams, beans, vegetables, plantains, hearty soups, and occasionally meat or fish. We are happy to accommodate most dietary preferences, including vegetarian and vegan options, upon request. Safe drinking water is also provided daily to ensure volunteers stay healthy and refreshed throughout their stay.

    The nearest airport is Kotoka International Airport (ACC) in Accra. We assist you to find cheap flights to Ghana. FIND CHEAP FLIGHTS

    Travel Insurance

    This is a set-date volunteer program and runs four times per year:

    • June to November

    Volunteers are encouraged to arrive at Kotoka International Airport (Accra) the day before the program begins. Airport pickup can be arranged for all each volunteer. 

    NB; Orientation starts on Day 1 with a welcome breakfast, group briefing, and cultural immersion activities.
