    About the program

Volunteer in Thailand with IVHQ, the world’s leading volunteer travel organization trusted by more than 155000 volunteers since 2007.

Make a meaningful impact by supporting English education in the relaxed coastal city of Hua Hin. Located along the Gulf of Thailand, Hua Hin is known for its beaches, friendly communities, and laid back atmosphere, offering a welcoming environment for volunteers interested in education and cultural exchange.

You will help students develop practical English language skills by assisting with lessons, leading activities, and encouraging conversational practice. This fully hosted experience allows you to support educational development while enjoying life in a charming seaside destination popular with both locals and visitors.

Your Role and Impact: The primary goal of this project is to improve students’ confidence and ability to communicate in English, a valuable skill that can open doors to further education and future employment. Many local schools have limited English teaching resources, and volunteers provide additional language exposure that helps students practice speaking, listening, and pronunciation in an engaging way.

As a Teaching English volunteer in Hua Hin, your role will be interactive and rewarding:

    • Classroom Support: Assisting local teachers with English lessons, reading exercises, and pronunciation practice.
    • Independent Teaching: Leading simple lessons, games, and conversation activities that encourage students to actively use English.
    • Creative Learning: Using songs, role play, arts and crafts, and interactive exercises to make lessons enjoyable and accessible.
    • School Assistance: Helping prepare teaching materials, organize classrooms, and support general school activities.

Volunteers work alongside local teachers, school staff, and other international volunteers. Local educators provide lesson structure, classroom guidance, and cultural insight, while volunteers contribute creativity, conversational practice, and fresh learning approaches that enrich the classroom environment.

No special equipment is required for this program. All teaching materials are provided by the schools or local coordinators. Volunteers are welcome to bring small teaching aids or stationery if they wish, but this is optional. Comfortable clothing suitable for a school setting is recommended.

No previous teaching experience is required. A clear level of English fluency, patience, and enthusiasm for working with students of different ages make this program especially fulfilling.

Program Details and Accommodation: This program offers a fully hosted volunteer experience with accommodation in a volunteer house and three meals provided each day. Transport to and from school placements is included. Volunteers gain hands on classroom experience, build connections with local teachers and fellow volunteers, and spend weekends exploring Hua Hin’s beaches, night markets, and nearby natural attractions. The program runs year round and provides a supportive, culturally enriching opportunity to contribute to education in a relaxed coastal community.
