    About the program

Volunteer in Bali with IVHQ, the world’s leading volunteer travel organization trusted by more than 155000 volunteers since 2007.

Make a meaningful difference by supporting English education in the peaceful coastal town of Lovina, located in northern Bali. Known for its black sand beaches, relaxed pace of life, and strong community spirit, Lovina offers an ideal setting for volunteers who want to contribute to education while experiencing authentic Balinese village life.

You will help local students improve their English language skills by assisting teachers, leading interactive lessons, and providing conversational practice. This fully hosted experience allows you to support educational development while living and volunteering in a welcoming coastal community.

Your Role and Impact: The primary goal of this project is to increase students’ confidence and ability to communicate in English, an important skill that supports future education and employment opportunities. Many schools in this region have limited access to English resources, and volunteers provide valuable additional language exposure that enhances classroom learning.

As a Teaching volunteer in Lovina, your work will be interactive, creative, and rewarding:

    • Classroom Support: Assisting local teachers with English lessons, reading exercises, and pronunciation practice.
    • Independent Teaching: Leading simple lessons, games, and conversational activities that encourage students to actively use English.
    • Creative Learning: Using songs, storytelling, arts and crafts, and role play to make learning enjoyable and accessible.
    • School Assistance: Helping prepare teaching materials, organize classrooms, and support general school activities.

Volunteers work closely with local teachers, school staff, and fellow international volunteers. Local educators provide lesson guidance, classroom structure, and cultural insight, while volunteers bring energy, creativity, and conversational practice that enriches the learning experience.

No special equipment is required for this program. All teaching materials are provided by the schools or local coordinators. Volunteers may bring small teaching aids or stationery if they wish, but this is optional. Comfortable clothing suitable for a school environment is recommended.

No previous teaching experience is required. Clear English communication, patience, and enthusiasm for working with students make this program both enjoyable and impactful.

Program Details and Accommodation: This fully hosted volunteer experience includes accommodation in a volunteer house in Lovina with meals provided each day. Transport to and from school placements is arranged locally. Volunteers gain hands on classroom experience, build strong connections within the community, and spend weekends exploring Lovina’s beaches, waterfalls, temples, and nearby natural attractions. Available year round, this program offers a supportive and culturally immersive opportunity to contribute to education in northern Bali.
