Our Sports Project offers football (soccer), basketball, and handball, providing a unique opportunity for volunteers with sporting skills to support the personal development of young athletes. As a volunteer coach, you will help children and teenagers grow both on and off the field while working with some of the most enthusiastic young people in underserved communities in northern Ghana. Your experience will be fun and rewarding you could be learning new techniques in the morning and organizing games in the afternoon.
Volunteer sports coaches are responsible for all aspects of training, including setting up drills, fitness sessions, and coaching teams during competitive matches. Through strong relationships with local clubs, schools, and sports teams, we ensure placements suit volunteers of all experience levels. Whatever your background or interests, we can match you with the right project to make a meaningful impact.
This placement allows you to positively influence children, aged 10–16, teaching not just physical skills but essential life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and communication. Volunteers will stay in our comfortable volunteer home in Bolgatanga, Ghana, and are encouraged to bring any equipment needed for the sports they wish to coach.
