Volunteering with kangaroos is a special way to actively support the protection of Australia’s unique wildlife. Kangaroos are increasingly affected by habitat loss, traffic and human interference. With your help, you support projects that care for injured, orphaned or weakened animals, rehabilitate them and, whenever possible, release them back into the wild.
Your placement takes you to rural regions of Australia, where you become closely involved in the daily routine of a wildlife conservation project. Your tasks include feeding and watering kangaroos, helping raise young animals, cleaning and maintaining enclosures, as well as simple construction and repair work. You’ll assist with care, rehabilitation training and preparing animals for their return to nature. Perfect for animal lovers who want to get hands-on and experience Australia’s wildlife up close.
